I met a guy named Ken at Kil-Kare dragway in Xenia, OH and he had a built/gutted SHO running 11.7’s and he was talking to me about his SHO all night and one thing that peaked my interest was custom motor mounts for the SHO he got off of a fabricator on Facebook for about $250. I would love to find out more and maybe even purchase but I can’t recall the name of the seller at all.

Hopefully you guys can offer more insight!!

The "motor mounts" are actually torque struts, that control the engine movement. They underneath the engine, and VERY easy to change. There are two versions. The original from SSM (South Side Machine) and a newer much prettier looking version from Anthony DiCunzlio on Facebook. Depending who you believe, Anthony designed the originals, and had SSM make them, and then when SSM started selling them themselves, he got his own made. Not sure who to believe, but BOY did the SSM torque strut improve throttle response.

I have the Anthony Dicunzolo versions, they were $225 shipped. Made the 1st to 2nd shift less violent and made the overall driveability of the car better. Hard to describe, it's one of those things you just have to feel.

I have the Dicunzolo's Gen 2 Mounts. They are a must have if you want to upgrade your SHO.

Raise your idle by 100 rpms and you dont have any drivetrain feedback at idle

I can only vouch for the Dicunzolo gen 2 mounts. They are outstanding. You can email him at [email protected]

Anthony DiCunzolo ([email protected]) makes some highest quality trans mounts for these cars. Powder coated, biggest bushings and grease fittings. I run them on my car and have had success all the way to the record run of 11.16 in the quarter with them. Only ones I will personally recommend.

This will help, but the worst vibration are cruising along at about 1500 rpms.

I went back to the stock mount on the front, which cut the vibrations substantially. Still buzzes the dashboard more than I like.

Where about do you live? I live just south in Maineville (south of Lebanon). I installed the rear mount off of a 18+ SHO. There was def an improvement but thinking I may need 'more' soon.

Just put the SSM mounts in last weekend. If I didn't know they were installed, I wouldn't have noticed a difference. Very slight vibration at low idle. The only real difference is the lack of a thunk when it hits second and third. Totally smooth firm shift at WOT. A must have with my Gearhead auto-octane tune. Easy to install and worth every penny.
