I've seen pics but never a video of one. Thanks for posting! That front end is interesting...kind of a combination Taurus/Sable.
The Ghia also has fender flares...
Did Ford ever actually *build* RHD Gen 3 SHOs? I'm thinking someone went to a lot of work to make that.
I know they tried to replace the Australian Falcon with a RHD Taurus and got laughed out of the market - the Aussies didn't just dislike the Gen 3 Taurus, they hated it. It was a complete sales flop and disappeared very quickly. I've seen one in HK and I think two in Oz, one of which was a wagon.
Would have been great if the cam went when he revved it up!
Oh ew, it has a purple interior!!!
Yes, They did. I saw 3 of them when I was out there. Well, One was right hand drive and two were imports. I even raced a Gen two import (LHD, MTX) in my skyline a few years ago over there. Poor SHO.
Looked grey to me.
I think he said something about "wont rev over 4000 in park"... and maybe I heard "the heads are Yamaha, but Ford messed up the cams"...
I dunno...My Japanese is not so good anymore.
I always thought the only engine aviable in the rhd taurus (ghia) is the duratec.
It does not have any badging for the v8, and has the exact same front end as a duratec ghia taurus.
Any possibility it was a swap ? I about sure the v8 never made it over there.
that guy for some reason reminds me of Ace from this forum.
what about the RHD Gen2's in japan? was there any?
There were V8s exported.
A couple of years ago there were some new in the crate RHD V8 motors on eBay. They all ended up in Idaho IIRC.
Every generation II (All Wagons and one SHO) that I saw over there was left hand drive.
thanks they were probably imported then
I watched it 3 more times... Still looks purple to me.
I want that bumper cover/headlights.....
I am most likely buying a 3rd gen Sable with that purple interior for the wife.....
Whaaaa?!?! :vomit: yikes...
Oh cool stuff too- earlier posts got edited out...
The exported exterior was more purple hued.
