    IMG_0851.JPG IMG_0854.JPG Hey all,
Bottom line - I need to find a rear Gen 2 bumper with the inner structure, or just the inner structure itself, and be able to get it to Denver for $300 or less including shipping or I will be SHOless again.

I got rear ended by an uninsured driver in a car that wasn't hers. Excluding the inner structure of the rear bumper the total repairs come to $1877. That includes repairing the bumper cover. But the inner structure of the bumper that connects it to the right rear quarter panel is toast. Insurance adjuster cannot find a recycled or new "Inner rear bumper shell" so he wrote a ridiculous $2K rider on the adjustment making the total $3,877. $3,877 is high enough to condemn my SHO to the land of "total loss" even though it is fully loaded, always garaged, and has only 86K miles. State Farm totals a car if it exceeds 75% of the assigned value. They've assigned value of $3250 to my SHO and I've been completely unsuccessful in getting them to go any higher. (It was a humongous struggle just to get up to $3250 from the initial $1,800 valuation of a SLO "because after 10 years the sub-models don't make any difference in valuation"). If you can help you can post here, IM me, or call 303.702.9123 and leave a message.

From what I have remember, the inner structure and bumper under the SHO cover is the standard Taurus bumper set up. You can probably pull your bumper back and look for the secondary bumper under the outer SHO bumper cover. If there is a junkyard nearby, you should be able to put another Gen 2 bumper/support on you car. You then would need to find another SHO bumper cover and a rear corner panel. Did you try contacting SV&HOdan

zoomlater - I just left SV&HOdan a message. The inner structure part number the adjuster used was E6DZ 17B930-A, that's a Gen 1 SLO number. So does anyone with a master parts catalog know if that was same for all Gen 2 sedans? And if not, was it good number for all Gen 1 Taurii? Thanks!

I found a past thread that might help. I had a similar issue when I picked up a rear ended 92. I was able to find the entire bumper assembly (inner and outer pieces) including the mounts, rear panels, etc. so the inner bumper was already inside the SHO bumper. It's been awhile, so I don't remember what the inner unit looked like. Hopefully Dan has access to a green Gen 2. Is there a pull a part near you? Did you try looking at the row52.com site? You can do a search for 92 to 92 Taurus in your area. You might find a green Gen 2 SHO.

Try www.car-part.com it’ll show junkyards that have them. I’m showing at least 2 in CO on there for reasonable price.

Thanks for the tip, but I just tried but it came up with nothing in Colorado. What search parameters did you use?

I would expect any Gen 2 would work, and whether shop repaints my outer cover or a black outer cover I imagine is the same cost. How much for the rear bumper and how much to ship to zip 80501?

75$ over shipping I’ll give you the bumper the rear tail light and that rear qtr piece shipping I have no idea what that’ll be

OK, I played with search parameters for a while and came up with 4 in CO, But going into the individual recycler's sites 2 appear to be misidentified SLO bumpers based on the VIN of the donor, including the one in Pueblo that claims "Green Says SHO". I'll call the other two tomorrow.

I searched for rear bumper assembly. You should probably just call all of them that show to have one and ask them to send you pics of what they have before you run all over town.

The Denver metro area has 5 self serve parts yards. 2 U-pull, 2 LKQ, and 1 (privately owned) Colorado Auto & Parts.

SUCCESS!! Thanks for the leads Form1le and One-shot! The closest place (~40 miles) listed on car-part.com had a serviceable bumper cover with a pristine inner structure - $40 + tax. I picked it up this afternoon and delivered to the shop. With the bumper in hand the Adjuster revised his wacky estimate from $3877 down to just under $2,400 and my SHO gets fixed starting Friday and no salvage title. I feel like I dodged a bullet. And it's good to find out SHOVNST lives just a few miles from me in Niwot. Of course since my car was wrecked in Niwot :-( I'm avoiding the place.
Now I need a good used or rebuildable set of rear Tokicos to put on before the car gets alignment after the repairs. (I have an NOS front pair of Tokicos already). Any leads out there?

I’m surprised I haven’t seen your SHO in the area! Been here almost 4 years now. I’ll keep an eye out for sure.

I’m surprised I haven’t seen either of you guys. You must not get to Denver area much. Lol we should all meet up some time.
And greg, I have a complete set of adjustable struts I’d make you a deal on if you could come pick them up. I don’t remember if they’re Koni or tokico but I can check tomorrow if you’re interested. They have eibach springs on them with the front coil cut right now but I have a set of uncut eibachs that I could install and set up for you so you’d just have to bolt them in the car whichever you would prefer.
Pm me if you’d be interested.

Hmmmnn. 1 strut.... Thanks for the offer, but I'm not quite sure what to do with that. But there's gotta be a story there. How does someone end up with one NIB rear strut? Building a SHO powered unicycle were you?
Maybe this thread will draw out it's missing soul mate and then I can reunite them...
