I got into the SHO game again with a 1993 ATX green with black leather interior. It sat for a while and I guess the front seats were in the sun, and the leather is quite stiff. No rips or tears yet, but I want to prevent that.

What is the best methos to soften the leather?

Thank you

Lexol leather moisturizer is what I use. Spray it on in the evening and let it sit and absorb it. Might take several treatments to bring back some life.

I'll give it a try. I'll also go by Tandy Leather and see what they reccommend.

Lexol is what the professionals use. It will take a number of applications, but it will soften the leather back up nicely with several applications and a bit of time.

The interior leather is sealed. Leather conditioners won't penetrate (another censored word!) it. Car leathers, unless they are top-grain European exotics, are coated with colored urethane.

About the only hope one might have is to remove the skin, remove the 1/4" of padding foam bonded inside that makes the accent stitching pillow out, and condition the back with penetrating and non-fungus growing oil.
