Hello everyone! Just picked up a 17 SHO with 23,000 miles yesterday. Have always been interested in the SHO because a buddy of mine had a first gen in high school. Really excited to join the community here. Already have my first issue (yellowed side mirror) that I didn't notice on the test drive so I'll be needing your help haha. Feel like a dummy but was just distracted by all the other features.

I see your SHO has some great company in your garage. Welcome to the community. I don't know of a yellow mirror problem, and I wouldn't expect to hear about it on a 17. I'm sure some other folks can chime in about that

I have a spot on my driver side mirror that has turned a tint of yellow. It doesn't bug me, because I never use my mirrors.

Thank you! Yes, I was able to steal the full garage from my wife now that I have a "nice reliable car" worthy of the garage space her CRV was taking up. The Mustang is a blast. its a 1964 1/2 with the smallblock 260 V8.

As for the yellow mirror from just some googling I think it has to do with the self-dimming mirror going bad. Its the whole mirror (not just a spot). Does anyone know if the SHO mirrors have the same "guts" as the regular Taurus? I was thinking I could try to cannibalize one from the local Pull a Part as a replacement. Is weird that it would happen to such a new car though. its killing me that I didn't notice at the dealership.

Yeah I bet you can swap it for a regular mirror from any year 10+.
