I found a used set of 4 Nitto NT01 tires cheap. Has anyone use these for drag racing. Will they hook up? Haven't bought them yet, I'm thinking about it.
By the way they have 70% tread depth and five hundred bucks for all four.

I don't have any personal experience with them but Nitto's intention for them is road course racing, their NT05 is intended for drag racing. I will say though that being a sticky tire they would still be better than any street tire at the strip.

I’ve used NT555R at the track and those helped me get a 1.664 60ft. I wanted wider wheels and tires and now have NT05R in the front with NT555G2 in the rear. Haven’t had a chance to see if it’s any better over the NT555R.

I asked a good friend and he said the Hellcats either used the NT555R or the NT01.
Whoa, just looked up the weight of these suckers, 29.59 lb a piece.

What size tire is everyone running to get a stickier tire? I'm trying to keep stock measurements so I looked for either the 245-45-20 for the stock wheels, or 245-55-18, for if I could find a set of Mustang 18x8's, and I can't find anything out there other than a regular street tire.

I run 255-45-20 Firestone Firehawk Indy 500's. That's one size larger than stock on stock '10-'12 wheels. FWIW, I have zero complaints for traction on the street in all conditions over 50F. I have the lower geared PP car with a Gearhead 91-93 tune. I mention this because I don't see many guys running them at the strip. Don't know if anyone has tried them or not. There are plenty of faster guys here that would lose traction before me.

Okay oh, I had the car flown down to New Mexico on the Concorde 4A quick use of a private road. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the Livewire results. 0 to 30 time 1.75 seconds a Improvement of .25 seconds best old result via Livewire. 0 to 60, 4.1 seconds a Improvement of.65 seconds. Quarter mile, 12.72 an improvement of .44 seconds. Trap speed 110.65 an improvement of 2 miles per hour. I think I like these tires. I didn't notice any wheelspin at all only a slight tug on the Wheel from torque steer about a half a second in.
Unfortunately it looks like it's going to rain on the weekend so I won't be able to get to the track again in till next spring.

I'm not up on every tread pattern! What are those tires?
They are Nitto nt01. The fellow who did my Dyno runs, said these were the tires to use or the r888, on the all-wheel drive Mitsubishi. These things are running thousand horsepower Plus.

be VERY careful when driving in the rain with them!
Well unless the weather changes I won't have them on the car for track use again until next spring. We got rain for the next 4 days and Saturday the temperature supposed to drop about 10 degrees. So low 60-degree Fahrenheit range until spring.

Low 60sF is good. We're looking at hitting the strip down here near Detroit in late October - early November.

Not for me, last public Drag Racing for the Year this weekend at shannonville. About 200 miles to the next nearest track that will still have racing after that. I guess I'm spoiled by having a drag track, less than a half-hour away.

3 hours away is my track. If only I could go into Canada then I’d be 1.5 hours away from Napierville Dragway. I’ve heard lots of stories. Ppl going down the track with no helmets, wasted drinking alcohol….no clue if that’s true or not.
