I believe we have been around this tree a few times. Aside from a Sonnax ZIP kit, no one has yet offered a readymade upgrade to the 6F5X transmissions that actually works, strange as it may sound.

I've seen this posted before, and from what I understand (when I checked into it myself quite a while ago), was that the services performed essentially permit better longevity and what not, but DO NOT necessarily allow for greater horsepower applications.

Regardless, it still may be an option for some as yaycandy said, so to that end, thus why I thanked the post.

As the platform continues to age, obviously there will be more and more transmissions requiring work/rebuild/upgrades.

Still an untapped area for any vendor who specializes in this field to take advantage of.

Could be a gold mine in the waiting.

Wait, you gotta learn me and maybe some others just incase. What do they help and what do they add when ours cars shift rpm can already be adjusted with a tune? Unless its just a lock up one which could help torque and mpg. I just dont know on these new time manual shift automatics. I know it took my 76 caddy from cruising shifts to break my neck shifts haha

Stock ecoboost stall billet stator for better coupling when not locked and a heavy duty lockup clutch. I have 5 in stock.

Aside from the snap ring and associated land shearing off which was fairly common for a few model years on both Ford and GM's version, has anyone actually been having hard parts failures with the transaxle that was torque/HP related? Everything I recall reading has always pointed to the PTU as being the weak link.

been asking this question for a while and I always get the same answer - "so and so said it was limited to xxx hp..."

I've yet to see ANY of the driveline components fail due to power, always comes back to maintenance...

I have not seen a trans die from power. However, your comment about maintenance isn't 100 percent correct. I can promise no one except (BPD) is more ridiculous about maintenance then I am. I lost a trans because of a snap ring failure. There is nothing you can do about that regardless of maintenance regiment. It is a design flaw.

Two things usually happen. The snap ring fails on it's own, or it is helped into failure by a clutch steel ring/clutch material ring itself breaking. This causes slack side to side in the clutch basket and then pop goes the ring.
