Hey. I have a 1993 Sho and want to get some more sound from it. But at the same time i don't want straight piped or anything that loud. Im looking for a something thats a little bit deeper and louder than stock. If you have any sound test, opinions and something like that from this type of upgrade i'd be very thankfull if you could share it.

Flowmaster 40s with the longest glasspack you can fit. I think I have a 24" one. I love the way my 91+ sounds.

Not right now. I'm in the middle of building the engine so it's not running at the moment. It will sound better when I'm done with it though.

It would be sad to give up the completely stainless exhaust system good for the life of the car and beyond for some welded-on rusty noisemaker... One of the many beautiful things about this car is never buying a muffler, and being able to polish up the whole system as much as you'd like.

Find an old SS Borla, mine has over 150k on it.
Hopefully your Y pipe is bent and not the factory 90 bends, added 9 hp ATW on a dyno for me.
Straight pipes IMHO sound like cats in a blender.

Very raspy before I added the glasspack. After that it became the perfect pitch for what the car is. My 89 had a full Borla on it and I preferred my 91 with the Flowmasters.

I've got the edelbrock rpms on mine with 2.5" pipes and a resonator. It sounds good inside but from behind it's not raspy, but kinda.....farty I guess? I have a set of nib borlas just waiting to be put on the other 91.

What you like is strongly personal taste. For me it was getting a sound I liked without the expectation that anyone would ever hear me go by and complain about the loudness. I have heard a good selection as my group did a couple of dyno days, and I always thought the Flowmasters were too loud. I did have a guy at the dyno day ask for a ride-along afterwards with my Borlas and he said he was going to go out and buy his own. It's got a bit of the ripping paper effect with some deep tone but not rorty. The _only_ negative (well, besides the price) was that their original mounting kit had these rubber isolators that just didn't hold up in the forward mount underneath the cabin. The muffler shop finally put in those rubber-based fabric straps (that's how I'd describe them, not the official term I am sure) and no problems since then. They are a little louder now with the special high-platinum CA legal high flow cats and the equal length y-pipes that I got from SHOSource, but that was a minimal change in the sound. Others with experience have told me that the Borlas should not hold power back until well beyond 300 HP, so that suits me fine.
