EPP Hot pipes and Tial BOV

    as the post says I’m about to pull the trigger and get this but I have some questions regarding the BOV. I know with the ecoboost ford allows for a little bit of overboost for a little bit of time and I’m just wondering if the aftermarket BOV would accommodate this. Also the wires for the BOV for the stock ones what do I do with them

    I think only *some* EcoBoost allow overboost and I thought that was limited to the STs or something?

    Never read the sho's doing that.

    Yea I’m sure it’s implemented on all of the boosted cars could be wrong though

    The blow off valve helps the turbo not suddenly stop when the throttle stops

    The wast gate is what controls boost pressure and protect from over boost.

    Since the tial BOV are mechanical what would happen with the connections for the stock ones

    I have done this with an HKS SSQV BOV and EPP Hotpipes. You have to leave the (2) stock Recirculation Valves plugged into the wiring harness, but just zip tie them out of the way. Pull your vacuum source from the intake manifold for the mechanical BOV to actuate. My setup has not thrown any codes and the car drives like it usually would.

    If they are still plugged in won’t the pcm act accordingly and run differently since the actually readings are different

    mechanically they won't be connected just electronically. The system is triggered off the tip sensor, so the car will tell the bovs to open, they will, and the mechanical bov would vent. no issues.

    If you are tuned, talk with your tuner and they may be able to deactivate this. TurboSmart makes a CEL defeater for doing this on the EcoBoost Mustang and I'm sure if you are crafty you can do this with some resistors.

    That’s the issue the car has a tune but I’m not sure from who or what cuz the strategy code is in Chinese

    Very weird. Any friends at the dealership? May be worth reverting to stock with IDS and starting over with a new tuner.

    Ideally you would have a handheld with a new tune ready to go after the car is reflashed. I'd be weary about running a tune you can't monitor or make adjustments to.

    thats why im afraid to do any upgrades like intercooler and hot pipes the tune thats on it is fine now but as with anything it can be faster but i dont want to mess anything up

    It's really odd that you received a car with the tune not unmarried from the car or have the programmer come with the car.
    Is this possible from hptuners tune?

    i used forscan and thats how i know its been tuned besides the 3bar map sensor and the catless downpipes.
