Went to the track Wednesday to compare the times reported by the Dragy app vs real world time slips. I tried typing them all out in a post, but it looked like a big jumble of numbers and was hard to read, so instead I typed them into a spreadsheet and took a picture of it, which is attached below.

For the most part it was pretty accurate on the overall ET. The furthest it was off was .065. The 60 foot times are a bit less accurate, with a little over a tenth higher reading by Dragy. Dragy read higher on times every single time, it never reported a faster time than any of the actual slips.

MPH's were a different story. Dragy reported higher trap speeds a few times. Dragy also reports a higher DA than what I found using the dragtimes.com DA calculator. Dragy DA was 3479 vs 3156 from the dragtimes DA calculator, which is about a 10% difference.

I've run my dragy basically on the weekly and I've had similar results at the strip <.1 difference between the slip and the dragy with the dragy always being slower than the slip. Awesome device for data and I see that on the leaderboards!

You have to be on a computer to edit comments. If you are on a computer and it still won't let you, it might be that you don't have enough posts to edit.

I was pleasantly surprised with how accurate Dragy is, although I kind of expected it based off your findings. I figured it anything it would be even more accurate since I live in a little more populated area.

I'm going to continue testing it at other tracks near me, I'll update this thread any time I visit different tracks.

Really surprised me when people don't see the value of the $149 it costs. Data is absolutely amazing for the price. I did notice when I went to a strip in the sticks it was less accurate but not by much more than a tenth. Neat little device!

I agree, but I've always been a stats/numbers geek. It's a very small price to pay for all the information you can get.
