New to tuning and Datalogging...when I am datalogging, do I start from a launch, drop down, or rolling start?

Most tuners want two logs. From a stand still, traction off, 1st - 3rd gear pull at full throttle. Next log would be from a roll. Usually 3rd gear at 2000 rpm. Hold 3rd gear all the way to redline. That is usually it.

Carefull at 3rd gear at redline! Very fast, i think i was around 90mph before i had to watch the road. Ill find my datalog with max mph for that pull.

    Last line. Max 101mph B2EBFA50-77B2-43D8-97C8-A792D6213141.jpeg

Ask your tuner what kind of pull they want.

Definitely varies from tuner to tuner. Typically we start with a 2000 rpm cruise log then a 3rd gear pull, then once dialed in we do a 1-4 gear pull to simulate the track and verify converter lockup, knock activity on shifts, etc.

Sent first datalog to Torrie. Launch through 3rd gear (0-100). Said my knock retard is off the chart. Wonder if this is cuz I'm still trying to get the 87 out of my tank...?

Most likely. In my SHO on 91 I get a bit of knock. On E30 I get zero knock.

In my ST on 87 it get quite a bit, on 91 a bit, and E54 zer0. Fuel is the most important part of the equation to make safe and reliable power.

Mother of God, the average boost is ~18psi, but the peaks! 28 and 41!!! Are those really the factory turbos?

EDIT: Lee from Ortiz Performance, notified me that tip pro boost pressure is measured at the throttle inlet. I always try and go back and correct misinformation.

tip prs boost is measured at the throttle inlet (not the turbo). The number you want to watch is the manifold absolute pressure. Peaked at 226 kpa however, that is relative to vacuum. There is a different formula. 226 kpa (relative to vacuum) is 18.08 PSI (relative to atmosphere).

Okay, that makes _way_ more sense that the system would be calibrated against vacuum.

That is why I asked l, where do you see those numbers? Then I remembered.

Turbos peaked at 26 and dropped down to 18 at the Manifold.

    Corrected my statement.

I learn something new everyday. So tip is at the throttle inlet, and manifold absolute is the 3 bar on top of the manifold correct?
