I was just on the website, ordered the kit for sampling and noticed that they check transmissions too. So I called and asked if they also do the PTU oil and they said yes. So I asked for additional kits to do all of them.

I was just curious as to how many of us have had them check transmission and or PTU and what were the results if any. Since I now have more then one high performance vehicle I plan on making this part of my maintenance schedule.

Just changed my PTU fluid and the old stuff came out looking more like black tar.... They would probably just laugh when it showed up. Car has 50k miles on it.... and seeing it up on the lift for the first time since I bought it 5 months ago, I was greeted by the view of a PTU with yellow paint writing on it.... which means someone had already replaced the unit once... yikes.

I would be interested in the ptu test after about 20k miles with redline/amsoil or royal purple. When was the last time you changed the ptu fluid?

I haven't yet, but it's on my to do list as soon as this weather starts to cooperate. Gonna send them samples of everything too.

I use Blackstone for my oil, they usually send a couple shipping kits. I'm curious how the PP cars compare to the non PP in terms of PTU fluid life. I changed mine for the first time at over 50k miles and it actually looked good in both viscosity, color, and smell. Got 12oz out of the drain with the cat tilted. If the non PP cars aren't fairing as well, maybe opening that pan delta in another post wouldn't be a bad idea.
