Wow those pictures are great! Maybe I’ll have to Drive it down to Texas one day for for a photo shoot with your dads explorer. It’s crazy it pretty much still looks the same. Makes me wonder when/how some of the damage happened to it though. like how the paint got messed up on the back bumper that you can see in the pic Jason posted. Also when the tail lights got blacked out... i always thought you owned it longer than you did. I assume those pictures are after it had been repainted? Or is that still original paint?
What’s the story of why it’s named bandito again? I’m pretty sure I heard there was some kind of story once but I don’t remember what it was.

So if you and area91 didn’t build the 3.2 thats in it? Who did you sell it to? I wouldn’t mind trying to trace the history of the car and the engine. If I remember correctly from when I bought it the story was that it was originally from Arizona then it was sold to someone in Texas, (probably your friend and you I guess) then Colorado, North Carolina, and now back to Colorado.

Maybe Sam can help answer some of these questions too since he was friends with YZF ford back when I bought it.
Where is Sam when you need him anyway?

I'd be down for that! Sorry for the upcoming short sentences. I'm replying on my phone. When my friend owned it, he was in a minor fender bender where the LH fender and bumper cover were replaced and the hood was repaired. That's why there is a square spot on the hood. He also had it painted and that is a Maaco paint job believe it or not! It's roughly an 18 year old paint job. My pictures are from around 2006. The rear bumper was something I've noticed and it occurred after I sold it. YZF is who smoked the taillights I believe. I sold it to Justinsane on here and he quickly sold it and went back to Hondas because it wasn't fast enough for him back then. I thought while he owned it the 3.2 was done by Area91 but I guess I'm wrong there if he says he didn't do it. When I had it, the interior was mint and the driver's seat was completely redone. It had a crack in the dash from the local ford house putting a heatercore in it but that's it. I'm not sure Cyanmauve named it Bandito but it always stuck and everyone called it that. An older man bought it new in AZ and moved to Dallas at some point. My friend bought it, then I bought it, and we both live in central Texas. After that, it's had a few owners and I lost track. I want to say you are the 6th or 7th owner. The fender bender was all topical and aside from that, it's never been in an accident that I'm aware of. It's a good oll car.

Thanks for the info. I did always wonder what was up with that square in the hood too. Just looking up those usernames you mentioned brought up a bunch of information about the car. Area91 probably is who built the engine that is in it. I found a thread where justinsane said they were friends and he was also talking about finishing up the 3.2 swap while he owned it in another thread. Not to much info besides that though. Might have to wait for area91 to reply and verify that. If anyone knows a good way to reach him I’d like to talk to him about the engine.

As for the clutch i believe it is just a spec stage 1 on a stock flywheel. I bought it from someone on the forum and can’t find the post about it again. It feels pretty much like stock though and hasn’t slipped yet.

Next time you have to take the blower off send it to Vortech and get it upgrade to Si specs. It's cheap. $400 and ups efficiency and overall output/performance. Made a good difference with my 500+hp fox. Will get you over the 500 mark easy.

I think he wants bigger... At our altitude, 500whp cars are closer to 400whp, uncorrected.

I’ve been thinking of doing the si upgrade just because it would be cheap. My injectors are also holding it back now though, not just the blower. I’m already running high fuel pressure to support the current setup. And if I’m upgrading injectors I will probably jump to a bigger blower also.

The plan is to trade my v1 s trim in for a v2 TI along with ID1300x’s to support it. Vortech’s trade in program will give me $1000 for my current supercharger towards a TI. Everything else should be set up to support the extra air. With that setup I’m hoping to push the stock engine to 600 whp. And at that point I’ll probably leave it as is and enjoy it for a while.

We’ll see what the future has in store though.

The Ti is some serious shit. I look forward to seeing your upgrade! Also before you trade your V1 into Vortech you might get more selling it. V1's are hard to find. I insisted on keeping my V1 gear set when I had to send mine in for a major rebuild and then I had them upgrade it to an Si. V1 gearsets are so brutally beautiful at idle.
