I'm brand new to this group, years ago when my 93 SHO was pretty new I joined the SHO club. I'm afraid it's time to let go of my car.
I have a 93 SHO 3.2L Automatic (first year for auto) that would be a good parts car, maybe someone who lives in Detroit area might want it? Engine and trans. worked fine until the air compressor froze up and one morning I started it and the belt started smoking and I shut it off and then it only clicked when I tried to start it again, Batt. is good so I don't know the problem. I have owned this car most of the time since new(sold it to my sister-in-law for one dollar a few years ago when she needed a car and bought it back when she got into a better place and could afford something else. I have replaced a lot of parts over the years. It's still looks OK but is a constant source of work and expense to keep it on the road and I'm tired of fighting to find parts. It has 117,000 miles and I don't want to take it to the bone yard. If you know someone who might want it as a good source for part you could give them my # 313-383-9265. The bone yard offered me 100 $ and they will tow it away. If someone wants and can match that offer it's theirs I will tell them if they call all that I have done and replaced since it turned 100,000 miles
The rims are gray and in good shape W/ all center caps, the color is the deep green with tan interior, only the drivers seat show wear ( a lot of wear) but the power seats, antenna, windows, door locks, blower motor, work, has all lenses, mirrors that work. The car has very little rust on the panels that's visible ?, front window has a chip and 6in fine crack so it isn't any good as a replacement, all the rest of the glass is good . If someone is interested have them call and I will provide pictures and do my best to tell them what they will get for their time and money. I just don't care to haggle over selling and trying to get more money I'd rather see it go to someone in the club who might benefit from a cheap parts car to help keep their SHO going.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Automatic or MTX? Hope you get the buyer & offer you want, it is indeed hard to let one go after so many years of ownership. GLWS!

I would snatch it up for sure if you were close enough to Rochester MN that I could get AAA to tow it, but Detroit is too far sadly,
    Good luck

Where in Detroit area are you located? I'm in Toledo and may have some interest in reviving it.

Perry, I know you're the man if I ever need some obscure SHO part I can't find at the boneyard. What's your stockpile looking like these days, 12 of everything?

I live in Taylor, as to reviving the SHO I'm really of the opinion that the cost of making it safe has been the other part along with the money and time I mentioned in my first post. I said not much rust showing on the panels but that doesn't tell the story underneath the skin. The struts need replacing and the towers have a good bit of rust it needs a full replace of the exhaust, I have patched and pieced it together for years. I made up my mind it would take a lot of work and money to make it truly safe, this car was garage kept part of it's life but still it's 23 yrs old and it needs a lot of attention to under the skin. It does have new ball joints, inner and outer tie-rods. rear shocks are tired. I honestly think it's what I said a parts car. Motor, trans are worth having and it has rebuilt alt. most everything else works. The radio has the problems, and the air panels all the buttons covers are broken but I know what they are and it all works, air cond. doesn't work anymore and hasn't for some time. If your interested call me if your a not a bone yard owner I don't want this car to go to a junk yard I want it to go to a SHO club car owner enthusiast. not some person just looking for a cheap car to make a lot of money on and rip off the SHO owners. Keep it in the club for some members benefit OK?

You know what though Perry, I found that as I have grown older, the catastrophic vehicle failures have all but disappeared. I even find myself driving the speed limit from time to time and even listening to 93.5 WRQN. I feel it's not long before I start drinking metmucil with my breakfast.

As far as those cobra wheels, I never knew that Ford offered them in 16" until I saw them. I believe they are 6.5" wide IIRC. Chris actually bought them off craiglist way back when. The guy he got them from used to have them on a Sable. I then bought them from Chris and had them on a red 93' MTX I had for awhile. How they ended back up with that red 91' I can't remember.

P.S. I recently sold a 95' MTX I owned for 6 years. The only trans trouble I ever had I inherited with the car. Where the stabilizer bar bolts to the trans for the rod shifter, there was a chunk missing. Since I didn't want to swap a good working trans for that, I converted the car to a cable shifter.

Yes someone did bring it up and it seems to not be causing much interest? I'm sorry for that maybe some pictures would have helped??
I will be having surgery next Friday and had hoped someone would have shown some interest so It's going to go to a boneyard soon. I won't be able to deal with this for some time after and I'm getting a new toy and will need the space. If you know of someone who can use it tell them or this good opportunity will end, that will be a shame.

in the past I would have jumped on this. problem is my 2 car garage already has 4 vehicles in it and the driveway is kinda full too. combine that with my recent retirement and it's time to stop collecting "stuff". the real shame is that I could use a running 3.2, just don't have any place to work on another car.
its sad to see almost no interest in these SHOs.
    good luck with your surgery.

I'm almost tempted to offer to pull the engine at your place, but that would probably create more issues that neither of us want to deal with.

It's same problem here, im in toledo as well but have five cars and no room for more at this point. But I sure could use another 3.2 motor to play with.. along with the two 3.0s I have now. Price is right, towing not a deal breaker.. sadly lack of space is, if I have my new place out in BFE, it would be gone by now :)
