Replaced all chrome with 3M Dinoc Carbon Fiber. Chrome was peeling and an eyesore. Simply done with a little patience and a heath gun.

Thanks I wanted to do something different than the standard plasti dip. I'm debating on the badges. My mother has a Lincoln and I used the Smoke finish on them and it was just enough to tone them down without blacking them out. They were similar to a light graphite finish that was a nice touch. I guess I can always try it and if I'm not pleased it's a simple removal!

Damn that looks really nice. Did you do this on the vehicle or take the trim pieces off?

Could I ask more along the lines of how you safely remove all the trim?

I need to do mine as they're peeling and I've wanted to black the chrome out anyway from day one. I definitely want all the trim to fit back properly

Seconded! a brief how-to would be great. It looks great, my chrome looks sad, haha.

I'm totally stealing this idea for mine. My chrome around the tail lights looks like crap. Only questions I have are as follows:

    1. How much of the carbon fiber did you need to compete this?
    2. Did you use the 3M 94 Primer?
    3. Did you use a heat gun or a hair dryer?
    4. Any tips to remove the trim and tail lights with damaging anything?

I like how it ties the inside and outside together, all while fixing an eyesore. Thanks for the idea and any answers you can provide!
