    Hey everyone,

I've been enjoying my new SHO but desperately need to figure out my grille situation. I went to a local vinyl shop to get a quote on how much it would be for them to wrap in black. They didn't want to do it there because of the curves on the grille. I really like having the Ford badge still on the car, that's why I'm not a huge fan of the black T-rex grille available, but at the same time, that's currently the only option I have. Anyone have any suggestions?

I came across this police interceptor grille, but I'm quite positive it's not going to fit on my 2010. My Taurus is black and I want to give it the black on black look. Thanks for any help guys (and gals!)

Due to the design of the front bumper cover for 2013's +, the P.I. grilles will not work.

At least not w/o extensive modification. I mean anything's possible, right? Time, Talent, and money.

Anyhow, the upper/lower grille combo I run on mine, originated with Mobsteel located in MI. They have since however sold off the molds to Tommy Z Designs.

I've heard both bad and good things about Tommy Z. So really up to you, to do your homework there.

Umm, what else, oh yea, check out post #5 from user Jasonoftherugar in this thread here:

His grille is cool, but again, it's for a 2013+. But since it is aftermarket, and custom, I see no reason why the vendor couldn't trim/shave down those horizontal slats for you, to accommodate your model year.

Certainly worth a shot, yea? Reach out to him via PM perhaps and roll with it.

Your profile pic looks like your grill is already black. What exactly are you trying to do? If you can't wrap it there is always dip or having it professionally painted.

Profile pic is what I want to make my car look like! It's the Taurus SHO from Men in Black. The only pics I have of my Taurus I got last week do not look good as avatar pics due to their size lol

Gotcha. There is always dip or getting it professionally painted. I have the MIB matchbox style SHO at home.

I painted mine just last week in a matte black and added new black emblems that I bought on ebay. I also painted the chrome on the back of the trunk, around the tail lights and the front puddle lights. I tried to upload the pics but file is too big. Anyone know the file size limits? BTW my profile pic shows the painted grill and new emblem.

Check out AM Custom Grilles. They make a black grille that is "interceptor-esque" but shaped for the 10-12 front. I'm running one on my 2011, and couldn't be happier. Unfortunately, I can't post a picture of it from work. I'll try to post one up from home later. If you're on facebook, you can look them up on there, and they've got pics of their grilles in action.

Here's a good view of what the grille from AM Custom Grilles looks like on my 2011 SHO.

Here's a picture of the T-Rex on my 2010. After getting the chrome wrapped in black, I'm quite happy I went with the T-Rex 20180503_114241.jpg

Were you able to install the new t rex grille your self or did you have to bring to a shop? I'm Interested in getting one and just wondering how easy install is.

I work at a Cadillac dealership and had my body shop do it. They charged me 6 hours of labor (it was at a reduced cost being an employee, but still). From what I gathered, it's not a very hard job to do, if you know what you're doing. If you have no idea about cutting apart grilles, I'd recommend having it done professionally. Just my 2 cents
