Has anyone ever attempted or made a 2 door SHO, from a thunderbird sc. I’ve seen the thunderbird sc’s and had the good idea of swapping the car with an SHO drivetrain has it been done before. If so could I see some pics I think it’d be a cool project.

Interesting concept. I am an SC purest..I have owned 2 of them and would be against this 100 percent. However, I am intrigued.

See and my idea is to take the Thunderbird of 89” that’s not in the best of condition especially the motor. Just to keep the good ones for the purist. Swap the drivetrain then maybe see about badging it as an SHO. I think it’d be a fun little project, but I know that I’m gonna piss off SHO and thunderbird owners alike. Just a little bit of my idea.

Want to know the coolest thing about life? You can usually do whatever you want within reason. If you have the time, ability, and money then wear it out. Nothing made me more happy when I LS swapped Fox Body Mustangs. People would lose their mind....

Technically the SHO isnt the car. It is a designated performance package for the Taurus Taurus. Kinda like the SVT. So it could be called the T-Bird SHO.

    Prepare to catch hell.

Well it’ll be sometime over the summer but hey it’s what I want. Hey if you can stick 30 inch wheels on our Malibu I can make a cool T-Bird SHO

Well I shouldn't be on the look out for a project though maybe over summer idk. It's a plan for summer to ask everyone on the forum to help me find everything I need. Saw on the non SHO for sale that there was a thunderbird for $600. Kinda happy till i saw the date said 2015.

I’ve always loved the 35th anniversary SC’s. God, I can’t believe those are almost 30 years old. What’s awesome is they still look good today. Super rare to see one on the road now too, at least in my neck of the woods.

I always thought it would be cool plumbing up that SC supercharger to a 302.

It was pretty cool plumbing one up to a 3.4L V8 SHO too!

I also came really close to a Gen 3 SHO body drop onto a 1991 5.0 Sport Tbird a few years back. Measuring out the wheelbase and width it all definitely fit as I recall.

The Eaton M90 isn't as efficient on the 302 vs the 232 that it was designed for. You have to spin them really quickly and when you do.....they become blow torches.

Well, with fear of offending the purest in SM105K, I do think a T-Bird SHO Coupe would be pretty cool.
At least it’s not like a 350 in a three window 32. Now that’s offensive.

I am an SC purest. If you find an SC that would never probably see life again on the road as an SC, and you convert to a T-Bird SHO......

I would be a fan. Just make sure you keep it rear wheel drive at all costs.

What we should be talking about, though, is actually converting a SHO into a two door by means of a ridiculous amount of bodywork and fab hours. Hmmm, that might need photoshopping.

I would do that but then you’re not pissing off SC fans but SHO fans. So it’s a lose lose either way. So the question I gotta ask is piss off SHO purists or SC purists? Which is a tough decision. I’m gonna have to buy both cars so I can get the drivetrain. I guess all that matters really is which would be an easier route, or which one would look better.

I think a sho motor in anything would be cool. Thought about putting one in my 65 stang. Think it was a mg I saw one in.
