I found out yesterday that I inherited
A green 1979 Pinto Cruiser Wagon, the one with the portal window, all
    Original with a blown motor.
It comes with a complete SHO motor on a crate.
    that’s all I know.
So I started reading the forums and it seems like I’ve got a project ahead of me.
In my head it should have a 5 speed, 3:73 explorer rear end and 4 disks.
I’ve already read I need a Ranger 3.0 5 speed, a Canfield spacer and lots of time.
I’ve got some decent tools and a few welders.
I pick it up in two weeks!
    Pictures coming soon.

Hi welcome, I had an older pinto station wagon that someone stuffed a 302 in it. I traded a guy a pistol for it, that thing was a rocket! If this project comes to fruition you will have a rocket. Sounds like a very interesting project, definitely post some pics when you can and good luck with it.

I don’t have a clue. My friend owned a good garage. He put an SHO in a corbra kit car 10 years ago so I’m sure it’s a good engine.

Very cool. Back in the 80s my older brother had a 76 Pinto wagon that was originally a 2.8 V6 car, but too much nitrous was the end of that mill. We first did a stock 302 swap, then later a built 289 found its way in.

Guy in the SHO Marketplace on Facebook is selling this right now.

"Canfield adapter - I bought from a guy in Canada a few years back. Hardware is included.

Flywheel - purchased from SpecClutch. Utilizes a T5 Mustang clutch kit. Is drilled for the Yamaha crank pattern.

*This requires a 94/95 Mustang GT T5 as they had a longer input shaft. I'm sure any year Mustang T5 could work as you can swap the input shaft, but I've never looked into it.*

I had plans to build a 3.0/3.2 V6 SHO powered SN95, however I'm needing to finish my 93 MTX before I tackle anything more.

I will not separate the two, if they don't sell I'll sit on them and eventually get to it. I had a shop lined up to make 10 of these adapters as well, but now material prices bumped the price up quite a bit. That's on the back burner for now. Sorry to those of you that were waiting on that."

    Current price posted is $800

Yeah spec'd out adapters would be nice. Not sure if Canfield still offers those. Haven't seen any recent projects.
