yep I get it. just don't want to see anyone get screwed for trying to be helpful
I logged in to thank you.
Twice from garage it was so apparently
Tommy started early.
We do have an indoor range nearby, if anybody is interested while they are in town.
I personally prefer outdoor ranges, because they are far cheaper, and more casual
The range looks to be fine. But, we prefer outdoor, during the summer.
That said, I was extremely disappointed in the available range choices in WI for the 2015 SHOcago Convention, which is why I canceled it.
Illinois, being the socialist mfers they are, only had one outdoor range about 1.5 hours away. But Wisconsin was the biggest disappointment. For a supposedly gun friendly state, there was basically nothing available midweek within 1.5 hours of our Convention Hotel
Chicago IS an out door shooting range, don't you watch the news?
Plus you can't nitpick on the 2015 and Wisconsin since you were an hour from the border to start with and most people just shoot on their own property. Not a lot of business mid week to keep a place open.
Also yes it was late on a School night, in the garage, restocking the beer fridge, killing off a few older ones and my signal was in and out, like I was.
Yeah, there was nothing except the one place around IL. At first, a search for Wisconsin had a whole list, but they were either private (membership), or were stuff like "every 3rd Friday from 3-5pm" kinda stuff.
Actually had the same issue when we were in Kalamazoo in 2017. Places were mostly only open on weekends, or private. We found a DNR range about an hour away that was not monitored, basically like an old rest area with no facilities. Worked out fine, we found that bowling pin that Nelson kept. He was the only one to put it down before we left!
Guess I'm kinda spoiled around here. Multiple choices for either indoor or outdoor.
10 days to go!
The Air & Water Show is the same weekend, so maybe we will see The Thunderbirds fly over on Saturday!
If you're looking for something to see Sunday, I'll put the link below. I have never gone before, but I hear so many great things.
I'm taking the Auction Helmet with me to Road America this weekend for Vintage races, maybe I can get David Hobbs and Brian Redman on it. Then I'll hand it off to Andy so those there early like Jason can get on there.
Food getting ordered today. Those "maybe" people, make it happen.
Derp, ran from rain at noon, forgot to leave helmet with Andy.
Ron, wanna hop off at Dempster and scoop it up on your way? Should cost you no more than 15-20 minutes? I’ll put a box of auction things together.
So I am hearing that booking a hotel is getting tricky, just an FYI.
I didn't realize that the EAA has their HUGE air show starting this week into next weekend. I'm already seeing awesome airplanes flying overhead, but that event draws a huge crowd that even hotels down here (45 minutes away) are getting booked up.
Michelle, I had asked Jason to reserve a room, even though he's staying with me. If he did, there could be one more at the Super 8.
Tom, any auction wouldn't be until Saturday night. Aren't you getting in on Friday?
I believe he wanted to get Jason to sign the helmet before he leaves.
Details updated! Please read this if you're attending!
So cool watching the event & excitement build!
