Ya know you're two weeks ahead of when registration has been due for the past few years.
    Nice Fiat Ron!
    Tip your waiters.

Not sure of any interest and may already know, but I was just looking at satellite view of the area around the super 8, looks like some sort of golf course a couple blocks away from the motel.

Golf courses are popular around here. Erin Hills isn't too far and hosted the US Open in 2017.

Somehow a busted grill, bent hood, and punched condenser and radiator, despite easily driving it about 3 miles to the collision shop, resulted in a $5,100 repair estimate! A bit over the $3, 725 NADA retail value! 20190613_150412.jpg

I found Blackstone Creek Golf Club in Germantown, where we're staying, and Kettle Hills in Richfield to the north. I'm assuming it's semi-private, as their webpage mentions memberships, but sounds open to all.

I've since learned that I need a course with clubs for rent (usually not an issue). Jason Kennedy is coming in for Wednesday until Friday afternoon, and is golfing with Bob Harris and I.

Without looking, it's probably beautiful, but way over what hackers like us pay!

Kettle Hills is one of my favorite courses in WI. The only reason I didn’t play there this year is we wanted to try something different for a change. Blackstone is nice but KH has a better layout. Both course are nothing fancy, 100% public, rent clubs, and playable for anybody. If you play KH they have 3 - 9 holes, choose the ponds and woods if possible.

Making food plans and picking up beer next week. The response and registrations are fantastic! If you're on the fence, make it happen - it's been great hearing from people I have not seen or spoken to in years and seeing new names!

I even heard from a little birdie that Ryan "bringbackthesho" is coming up!

I’d like to suggest keeping in SHO Convention tradition we all bring stuff for a Charity Auction, that Charity being gambling money for Ron for the next year in prep.
Guessing whatever we do there will be recon expenses, and the estimated haul of $137.50 will help.
I’ll be bringing an old helmet for everyone to sign and auction off and other items.
I’ll also be bringing my new helmet, I really want everyone to sign, no cock and balls drawings please but Steve did you ever get that C&B track map sticker done?

That is actually an excellent idea. You know what they say "Charity starts at home". We are a club but we do not charge dues. The club needs seed money. What better way to do it than have an auction that benefits us. I think we should not only do it this year but every year; an annual auction to help defray club expenses and build a treasury to for the following year's convention.

In addition, set up a paypal address for donations, so this could happen yearround.

Corrected. I saw it as soon as I looked at it just now. One too many Grasshoppers last night.

Right now I'm still a maybe but leaning to the side of Yes. Still waiting on approval from work to let me know I can take that Friday off.

This can be part of our "Club going forward" discussions we want to have that weekend. I'm not partial to setting it up as a business (as an LLC, for example) as Don and Kirk had, since I have no other use for it.

But setting up a separate checking account at a credit union, that could even be tied to a PayPal account, could be good.

Another possibility is as a nonprofit Org. Again, lotsa red tape for basically just organizing a once-a-year Convention.
