Best refrigerant to use on 2010

Realized that I had a good digital thermometer already. My Thermopro meat/grill thermometer. Running the car in the shade at high idle with Max A/C and recirculate I measured as low as 43 with ambient temp around 80. This has been a productive discussion, but I shall leave well enough alone...

Best refrigerant to use on 2010

Thanks. I do appreciate all the advice. I can easily see why an inefficient condenser (heat exchanger) might limit a systems cooling ability. Most probably assume if it isn't leaking, it's fine. I really need to get a good digital thermometer, otherwise it is rather subjective. I think I'll do...

Best refrigerant to use on 2010

I'm going to play Devil's advocate here. Although, I do agree with all the above. I even can probably borrow everything needed. Still, I have never owned a vehicle that didn't lose some freon after 12 years. That is a pretty small leak. My 06 Explorer was barely putting out slightly cold air...

Thanks for your help. I appreciate the thorough explanation.

Best refrigerant to use on 2010

All good points. Yep, really high humidity in Illinois right now. But, I noticed this before that. Still cold, just not as cold as my other Fords. I am leaning towards straight R134a, since it has been 12 years and I don't think losing some during that time is surprising, maybe even normal...

Best refrigerant to use on 2010

My vehicle is 12 years old and seems to be blowing cold at only about 80-85% of the original capacity. I have an A/C manifold and would like to add some refrigerant. What is the best route to go? Best brand? R134A + oil + stop leak? Or straight R134A? I've also read that the new self-sealing...

    Squealing from front wheel bearings...

LOL - I own a hub buster. I needed it for the left front. I've even got the Timkin replacement bearing on hand. It is just that the sound has been there for about 3-4,000 miles and is exactly what you would expect from a slightly dragging metallic brake pad. Same noise, never really changes...

    Rotors that won't warp?

To be fair, I haven't driven it that hard since upgrading brakes.

    Squealing from front wheel bearings...

I replaced my front left a couple years ago. I am getting a constant squeal from my front right that goes away when I apply the brake. Constant squeak/squeal from 0-50 MPH. Moderate brake and it goes silent. Brakes are relatively new - couple years, maybe 8,000 miles. OEM MC SD pads. Anyone...

    Rotors that won't warp?

Is this possibly a 2010-2012 car with the oem sized rotors? If so, I don't think any rotor/pad is going to solve your problem long term. You need to upgrade to 2013+ brakes. I agree that rotors don't necessarily warp, but they can get spots that cause pulsation from too much heat. I am not sure...

Now, I remember why I rarely post on forums anymore!

    Gen 4 Wheel Pitting

My experience with multiple Fords is that the OEM wheels are not particularly great. Especially for the rust belt. My 2010 20" wheels looked terrible after just a few years, peeling, yellowing clear coat, etc. I recently replaced them entirely with aftermarket Mustang PP replicas, due to the...

    BLIS after side mirror replacement

I replaced my drinker's side mirror for the same reason. Nearly tore it off backing out of garage. Bought used off Ebay and BLIS works fine with no additional steps. Guessing it came from a Limited.

    Are the mirror covers replaceable?

Thought I'd post a few pics what the inside of this mirror assembly looks like. There are three tabs at the top, but the outboard one is the real biotch (last pic). A fourth tab seems more like an alignment tab. You just push it outward. As you can see the tabs holding the mirror in place are...

    Are the mirror covers replaceable?

Ok, found this after a search. I think it covers it. Thanks. ... the glass has to be removed to access the motor and cover. Position the mirror glass to the full upward and inward position. This will allow' access to four clips under the glass that can be released with a screwdriver blade. (It...

    Are the mirror covers replaceable?

I damaged my passenger mirror. I want to buy a replacement and swap my colored cover for a chrome one. Can this be easily done, once the mirror is removed from the door? Thanks in advance.

SHO Intermittently will not recognize the Key fob

You could try shutting off the wifi on the router for testing purposes. Or changing the wifi channel in the router. Also, this thread is chock full of info FWIW https://shoforum.com/index.php?threads/2010-no-key-detected-not-the-fob-or-battery.140503/page-2#post-1535011

2010 - no key detected, not the fob or battery...

I had disconnected the battery twice over the past couple weeks to no avail. Second time I shorted the positive to negative terminal for 30 minutes then reconnected. That was a week ago. Did not help. So, basically it just cleared up spontaneously, like it did last January. Been using the car...

2010 - no key detected, not the fob or battery...

The device by the cup holder might be the RFA or an antennae, as opposed to the fob receiver (RFR). Anyhow, just like before, after a few weeks of it not responding to the fob, today it finally sync'd back up randomly. I was putting the fob in the holder and inadvertently touched the panic...

2010 - no key detected, not the fob or battery...

Well, it has happened again. Car sat for around 5 days (battery is 4 months new and fully charged prior to sitting). Got in and drove to store just fine. At store said "No Key Detected" and warned not to shut off. Left running while I grabbed my stuff. Came home and found that it will only start...
