Like I said, it's probably a faulty tensioner.
Listen to this man, he speaks the truth.
He's also totally hot, like OMG :***:
ok thanks everyone. I will replace the tensioner. also I noticed that my AC compressor does not turn when the AC is on, should I be concerned about it messing with the belt?
Kind of an update to my belt. Last night I started the SHO and for the first few mins the belt was quiet. Then it started to chirp a little bit. Got quiet again, so I thought great is shut up. The I gave i reved it up a bit and started making its noise again. Is this still the tensioner?
Try some belt dressing just to make sure it is the belt before you try anything else, Money wise.
You should never use belt dressing on a serpentine belt. Maybe some soap and water to try and clean it.
lolNah, chances are close to 90% the clutch has too big a gap. It's happened at some point on every SHO I've come across. The gap is set with shims; you will have to remove the clutch face (you'll need a spanner wrench and, I wanna say, a 13mm deepwell socket. It might be 12mm... also a set of good snap ring pliers) and remove shims as necessary to get the correct clutch gap. I used to know the gap off the top of my head... I wanna say .023-.032 inches. It's on the forum, though, do a search for it.
