My old master cylinder didn't have this screw on the side that the new one has. Would this pose a problem. The part number is mc390024: Supposed to be for a '92 sho with abs.
Do I need to get a metric double flaring set to flare my lines? I fould 5 compression unions under the hood that have got to go.

where did you get that? odds are its for a SLO half the retailers sell them and say its for a sho but its not, its for the sSLO. What size are primary's on that thing? It should be 12mm, if it's 10, then its for a SLO and although will fit, it won't give you the braking performance that the SHO MC will.

Rock auto, I didn't check the threads yet to see if they match up. I figured they might match up either way.
I'm going to buy a flaring tool tomorrow, I don't know if I need a metric set/standard. My 3/16 die broke, so I can't check to see if it fits.

That screw looks like it's there for the cruise control deactivation switch that isn't there for MTXs. I might be wrong, though; I can't tell how it's oriented. Is there any way you could supply a larger picture?

I checked raybestos' website, it said 10 on the primary and 12 on the secondary.

Yeah al ot of rock autos are wrong, is this the one you ordered?:

RAYBESTOS Part # MC390130 More Info {Professional Grade Bore Size=1" Number of Ports=4 Primary Outlet Size=(2) M12x1 Secondary Outlet Size=(2) M10x1}

if so then that should be the right one, a lot of the others are for the SLO and don't have that 12mm primary.

I circled the area in green. I pulled it out when I noticed it to see what it was, it's just a flat head screw with a pin that goes into the master about 1.5 inches. It has an o ring on it also. My original had nothing like it.
It's not my camera, sorry it's not in focus, next time i'll make sure it is just for you.

I guess I have to return it, mine's 390024. I wonder if the booster I got is right? It's a1 cardone part#5474300

I just went outside and the fittings threaded into the master. The front is 12 mm, and the rear is 10mm.

I just called rockauto, and they called raybestos. Supposably I wont have any problems installing 390024.
I'm guessing that I need to just use a standard flaring set, since nobody wants to respond.

I would switch out the master cylinder. Your not supposed to have to reflare your brake lines.

The master cylinder you have, rock auto lists for these vehicles, which SHO is in there. As stated that is wrong. -

I'm stupid sometimes, but i'm not that stupid. I'm reflaring lines, because some ******* decided to put 5 compression fittings under the hood, instead of doing it the right way. I'm not reflaring the lines at the master, as I said they threaded right in. I just wasn't sure if I needed a metric or standard flaring set. But then I realized that 3/16 is very close to 4.75mm, which is the smallest size in the metric kit. I just assumed because the fittings are metric the diameter is metric.
Honestly if you look at the pics side by side of both raybestos part numbers, it just seems that one comes with a gasket, and pins, and the other doesn't. I shouldn't trust the rockauto guy or the raybestos guy, but i'm installing it tomorrow.

Tauri use "British" lines; 3/16ths Line with Metric Fittings and use a Bubble Flare at the ends. A double flaring kit can make the bubble flares if you know how.

Sorry, I missed the part about the compression fittings - dunno why people try and do that.

How would it be possible at all to make a bubble flare with a double flare kit? I'm just making double flares and using unions, I don't see why i'd need to make bubble flares. Anyway a double flare has got to be a **** of a lot better, then compression fittings.
I just don't understand many repair shops that I worked at used compression fittings. I've never seen one let loose, but for peace of mind and not worrying about hurting myself or someone else it's well worth the f@$#ing aggrivation. thanks for the info guys
