Discovered a solution to a problem that folks might have.

Symptom: car starts right up in the morning, but does not start easily if the car has been sitting more than an hour. It would start, but only after alot of cranking over. Car would behave as if it were flooded during start up. Strangely enough it will start fine if it has cooled down completely (ie, next morning it would start up just fine. This problem was around for quite some time as I tried to figure out what was going on. I suspected it was fuel related but pressuewas fine, pump was new, and key on/key off several times before startup did not help at all.

Then like a revelation from the mountain top, a light went off, perhaps I have a fuel injector that is slowly dribbling into the cylinder and causing a flooded condition. You know, like a bad prostate glad. Not enough to totally bleed fuel pressue, but perhaps enough to make it tough to start. Add one quart of ATF (DEX/MERC) in the tank of premium gas, drive it hard and the problem was gone....not almost gone, not somewhat gone, but gone gone. Car runs like a champ now.

Seafoam, or Marvel Mystery oil would serve the same purpose, but overall, the fuel injector with prostate problems was cured.

Now if I can just stop getting up 5 times a night to ***, then I will be golden.

I had the same exact issue, however in my case it was a lazy IAC. Replacing it cured that issue once and for all in my case.

half-way there, I think.
A weak check valve in the fuel pump has similar symptoms. Bleeds off enough presure to allow the fuel in the rail to boil/turn to vapor causing hard start/stumbling idle when hot.

If you have larger than stock injectors, but the ECU still has the stock "Fuel-Cranking Pulsewidth" parameters, then the same thing happens.

S/C guys will know what I'm talking about!

My Car has been doing EXACTLY what you described. I'll try this. Thank you very much!

Doesn't ATF harm your plugs or screw something?
My car does exactly same thing as yours did, but I want to make sure it's ok to do before I commit it.
