yeah, i had noticed the oil pan looked like it had been off before, but idk for what,

i know the people that had the car before me were car enthusiasts(father and son) i believe that they did do good maintenance on the car.... probably equally beating the shit outta it too though, lol

so i guess im wondering if that looks like 125,000 mi. of wear, or if they look like they were done before,

In the absence of knowing how well the vehicle and engine were maintained by the prior owner/owners, there's really no way of judging/rating bearing wear versus mileage on the engine bearings. There have been posted images of 200,000 mile V6 SHOs with bearing-wear similar to Adumb's, and engines with less than 100,000 miles worse than yzstud's.

yeah, did the bearings in my 3.2L it had 131k miles on it, there was zero copper showing at all. Then here are the bearings from my 93 mtx at 99k miles:

Lots of things, lets see, not doing regular oil changes, not using the right type of oil, lugging the engine, beating the living crap out of the car all the time (aka racing around a lot) running low on oil, **** there are tons of things that can contribute to it. The main part on my car was it got the living crap beat out of it for 99k miles, most of the previous owners raced the car (I am the 5th owner of my car), and when I bought my car, the guy neglected to mention it burned a ton of oil, (I changed the oil when I bought it then I drove 1k miles checked my oil and was almost 2 qts low So I'm sure that was part of my problem, who knows how many times the previous owners ran it low as well, so I'm sure that is why those bearings looked the way they did.

um, i had my roommate there to **** up the bearings, hand stuff to me, and turn the engine when i needed, otherwise i woulda been crawling in and out from under the car,

for me that = frustration,

but probably like 5 hours or so, i was taking my time,

if your working off the sho phoenix walkthrough, a good idea once you get the cap off is to put a small piece of fuel tubing on the bolts, it helps keep them from hitting the crank
