did anyone go further with this and try to see if it will fit in a MTX? I can link up the Quaife drawings if anyone is still interested, I'm not giving up on the diff search

I once read that the mtx quaife was based on a machined down porsche design, you could try looking that direction

I checked all the Porsche drawings on the Quaife website, they were not close, the MTX-75 can be machined to fit the SHO trans but I'm waiting on drawings from Torsen to confirm but I doubt they want to give out there drawings.

Somebody needs to start casting new MTX cases. How hard can it be? ****, as many of those things grenade daily, there's got to be a market for them... make them out of steel and you'll never grenade a case again!

Of course, you'd have to make new steel diffs, too... maybe titanium? oooh, I bet those'd cost a bomb, though.

The case according to the following drawings shouldn't have to be machined at all, it should clear the, the problem is shiming the final drive correctly. But i'm no expert at diff's.

the images on the Quaife website. On a side note, the great thing about the MTX-75 is that you can buy the Quaife ($1000, Torsen $650 or OBX $350)

Then you will need SVT axles, custom made to the correct length. There goes all the money saved from paying for the correct quaife.

The drawing only shows the SHO splines and pitch but The number of splines and spline pitch are the same on both drawings, so it should take both SHO and SVT axles but even if it only takes a SVT axle, i've done that before, the shaft's parts are interchangeable, not an issue concern. My issue is getting 10 buyers for the Quaife at $1500 a pop totalling $15,000, modifying the SVT diff. seems attainable.

Hmmm...if those ends are just solid material is the thought that just milling them down to fit the SHO would do the trick? It does seem like it'd be a lot less than $500 to get those ends milled nicely, assuming that's not going to hose up any annealing or surface treatment on those pieces.

Whether or not the intermediate shaft fits the splines would be the worry, I'd think.

I see the same clearance issues but those are where the speed gear mounts so the casing should have clearance at that point, here's what i got

-mill final drive mounting location
-mill bearing mounting locations 7.9 mm
-possible milling on D2 may need some clearance for the final drive to mount
-drill and thread 10 final drive mounting holes on 138mm circle
-weld and grind existing mounting holes
-find 41mm bearings
-find some FWD shims

just a shot, I'm desperate to get something better than the open diff. before my SC goes on.
