So i come out of school today.(after a heavy rain yesterday) after about 3 hours of being turned off i come out to leave and the car turns over as if it has no gas. The car started this morning and ran perfect for about 15 miles to school The gas light came on about 10 miles from school so just to be safe before posting this i went and put 2 gallons in the tank(no fuel light now) and tried to start it for about 5 minuets or so with no luck. The car was sitting on a slant for the first few minutes of trying to start it but was moved to a flat surface after the 2 gallons were added and still no change.

I had a friend that had a similar problem with a 93 atx, ran into a gas station for 5 minutes came out and the thing cranked until the battery, was a fuel pump.

Just trying to figure out what else you guys might think it would be, before i go out and by a a fuel pump.

All and all i spent about 10 minutes cranking the car over sitting at different angles trying to get it to start.

Edit: I also noticed the fan would come on with i turned the key on (maybe because its close to 95 in the parking garage)?

well check it, you COULD have fried the pump by running it low on gas, but that's an easy way to tell. You should be able to hear it.

If i dont hear the pump do its clicky noise that means the pump is bad ?Could it be something else still (fuse, lose wire)?

You know. My car's pump decided to die today too! I don't hear any priming. I do have spark. My fan's on too??? Kinda odd.

I was sent a PM by HyperMikeD! that said if the fan was on then its the IRCM.
Now just to find one!

Forgive this noobish mind, as it's probably wrong. Some of these fords have a switch that shuts things off if the car was bumped right. (Like in a wreck, but it doesn't have to be severe.) Just a little jostle in a parking area can do it. It happened to a friend. ...You might look in the manual, and reset that button. IIRC, it's in the trunk on the left side. ...But I could be way wrong on that location.

Mine's fine too! Is there a way to reset it? Is there a fuel pump fuse or relay? If so where is it exactly located?

I do not have my audible fuel prime or the distinct "CLICK", when I turn the key to "ON". I have another question. My GF's 1995 Ford Mustang has a newer CCRM module. Will that interchange with the SHO's? I just need it long enough to get me home. 7 miles tops. I'm not sure what the letter is.

Ok so update

I located a CCRM at Napa and had it matched up with the ford part numbers, although there is no M D or J marking on it. I uninstalled the original CCRM and mounted up the new one and NOTHING changed. The fan is still coming on when i turn the key over, and the fuel pump still does not prime/click. After that happened i took the part back along with my old box and they matched up the part numbers from ford and it turns out i have the right part, so is this part broken, or is there something else that is wrong that im missing ?

Would a bad fuel pump cause the cooling fan to come on ? I guess i really dont have much of a choice but to swap out the fuel pump.

You found the module at Napa? How much was it? I may change my CCRM too. It's at the shop right now, hopefully they can tell me something encouraging.
