Hey Guys,

This morning ran down to the pick and pull and they had a gen3 in there. Of course some one had already go to it, but I don't think that where sucessful in getting the appearance cover off and basically destroyed it. They didn't realise you have to take the oil cap off.

Anyway I got the IMRC off it and some trim pieces I needed I got the iac too, but couldn't really think of anything else that I would need.

The interior is trashed and someone again destroyed the center console trying to get it out.

Now on the imrc the cable has one of the metal strands loose, can I just snip that strand off or is there some other way to deal with it? I bought this as a back up to the good one I have in the car at the moment.

I also managed to get one off a gen3 regular taurus, which is in pretty good shape.

They still didn't have a clunk stopper.

Rav.

I was just there too, there should be a black Gen III SHO in addition to the silver one, it was in the front row of the fords. Maybe it has the clunk stopper you need  No gen I/II:cry:

kyle did it have the appearance cover on it? I'm after the caps that secure it.

Kyle,

U-pull-it on 3400 W. Broadway and Ecology on 27th Ave South of Van Buren, each have a gen 1 and a gen II.

Rav,

A single strand wont hurt the stength but depending on whether the loose end is at a bend or straitaway section might cause problems.

Thanks Tom.

I actually went back just before closing. Managed to get the imrc off the other SHO and a Gen3 24v.

The IMRC off the second sho is in great condition and the one of the 24v is in good condition too with no fraying on either. So I'll return the first IMRC for a credit.

So the score for the day..

2 parking lamps with bulbs in good condition.

3 IMRC's one will be returned and the other two in good condition.

2 new looking coil packs. So I have 5 spares, the rear coil packs were replaced with new ones when I had the cams welded 20k ago. Also I would only put new ones on the rear as it's such a pain to get back there, it's false economy to put old ones there.

1 weather strip for the rear passenger side window.

1 IAC in good condition. No idea why I got this, but it was just staring at me and was fairly easy to get off.

Overall not to bad, though lessons learned..

Get a tool bag/box to transport tools. An old rice sack is not good enough.

Gloves are not girly and there's a reason why the experienced guys wear them.

I have a little two-wheel hand cart and I put my tool box and a big bundle of bungee cords on it. A few garbage bags come along for the fasteners and other small bits. The only problem with this method is that those concrete ballards at the Chandler pick-n-pull are spaced too close to even get my little cart and toolbox through going in, let alone loaded with crap coming out.

And, yeah, gloves are good. ;)
