Save this sho from the crusher

well guys I found this in my local paper its a 93 atx and he said its got a steering issue, i asked about it and he said its stiff or something and I think maybe the pump is shot. It runs and drives and is red in color. Hes moving and needs it gone ASAP i asked what he really wanted for it and he said 800 because if not hes going to just have it crushed for scrap and stuff. Honestly though i think hed go 6-700 if you were there with cash. So heres the original ad its located like 15 minutes from me in phillipsburg NJ:

hed get more then 100 in scrap, he might get 400 between selling the converters and taking it to the yard himself, he claims he can get 11 something per 100 lb of steel, but the most i know you can get is $7.50 pre 100 lbs. Assuming he gets 7.50 not his 11 something 3600 at $7.50 per hundred is 270 bucks so I know **** get about 300 in scrap if he gets 15 bucks each for converters. I got 130 for my completely stripped explorer just a shell so **** get something decent, but no where near 800 I don't believe it. He said hed get 400-500 in scrap, and im like ok ill save you the trouble of dragging it to the yard and you can save a car, ill give u scrap value, but he was being a dick. Im going to go see it next weekend and ill see if i can scrounge up some cash maybe 4-500 and save this thing if its not a complete pos.

I would make him wait- call him bluff. If he admits to getting X amount for scrap, offer him slightly more. It's not worth paying twice as much just to save something you don't need. If you sound too interested, he's going to inflate his asking price.

yeah he was begging me to have my dad come look at it before I got home, I said ok ill call him, im not goign to call him till next weekend. Honestly, im NOT interested in the car I have 2 already and thats to many for me, I just hate to see shos drive themselves to the crusher.

Just make sure he has your number. Wait for him to call and tell him that you're not interested at that price. The ball's in your court now. Of course if the car is a POS and you really don't want/need it, don't even bother.

I know it needs something with the power steering, and its red so I might be ok with having it lol. I knwo they need money last sho i bought for 700, it needed new rear steel brake line, new rear rubber lines, engine, engine, did i mention engine and a bunch of other random crap so yeah i know its old old car and is gunna need some tlc. I personally don't like red, so im not to interested anyway, I have no money for it to being with id only buy it and fix the problem to resell so it doesnt get crushed. If its a complete piece, id like to see it at least parted then crushed, but theres nothing I can do and its an atx anyway so im not to worried

Just make sure he has your number. Wait for him to call and tell him that you're not interested at that price. The ball's in your court now. Of course if the car is a POS and you really don't want/need it, don't even bother.

hes got my number I told him to hang on to it if he got desperate, and the ball is in my court already lol, I don't need it, cant afford it really to begin with, and I don't like red or atx, plus if another sho shows up in my driveway my parents may end up getting a divorce. the first one was a nice car (my mtx) second one a complete pos my mom was extremely ****** at this point, now this 3rd one comes home smoking like **** cuz of the cam seal (to me thats nothing replace and its fixed to her its a complete pos cuz it smokes. Then the engine died, she was not happy.

EDIT: btw my mom was ****** when i got my mtx, and that was a nice car, the abs light on and the ac non working she didnt like and then the clutch went out 2k miles after owning the car, and the the engine blew due to rod bearings 2k miles later after the clutch replacement, so she has a true hatred for shos.

my mom did admit its a nice car to me actually, and she likes the seats haha, but she said i spend to much time on pos cars and coulda bought a new car by now, which... shes probably right

Actually I have been told that, by all my parents even my father on occassion. He thinks I am crazy but I just say its his fault.

haha yeah they are, my mom refused to ride in my atx cuz it was a piece, so i forced her to and i inflated the bolster and lumbar, and shes like, wow there are pretty nice haha
