Nice work. Well layed out, perfect wastegate placement. Have you had any heat issues with the turbo exhaust going behind the engine? That was the last part of my setup that I wasn't sure about as far as clearing wires. Tape looks good though. What did you do with the thermostat neck? How does it run?

The downpipe placement is a little scary, because it does run so close to everything. It actually presses up against the speedo cable, and pushes it over (one of the reasons you NEED some heat wrap, at least in that area). But there's no more room in that direction, so that's just how it's got to be.

As I was preparing the car for the turbo, I moved everything I could out of the way. I re-routed the heater hose lines tight against the motor, relocated harnesses and wiring out of the way, and altered the path of the upper radiator hose. On the therm housing, I just cut the neck off, and then modified the end to have a barb shape for extra security against the hose coming off.

Yeah, I know it's tight. I was thinking about sleeving the downpipe, or at least a section of it, in another piece of pipe and then heat wrapping it if just plain heat wrap didn't work, but I'm not sure how that would work either. Good job though. Can't wait to see what kind of numbers it puts down.

Bump....

I haven't dyno tuned the car yet, but I did whip up a base tune, and I have been getting on it now and then. I'm paranoid to break the trans, so I haven't been doing any power shifts or hard launches. I haven't seen any issues with anything thus far. The car pulls real hard up top. I'd like a little more low end grunt, but honestly, it's enjoyable to drive it as is. It drives like a stock SHO when I'm not on it, and then I know the extra power is there when I need it.

I'll post up dyno numbers when I dyno the car. I'd like to see around 300whp, I don't really expect any more than that.

My old s/c 91 ran for well over a year with a stock tranny with drag racing and hard runs. There are quite a few on here with over 300whp with an unmodified transmission. Never broke and axle and I had DRs on it for a month or so...

The funny thing is, I used to beat the living snot out of my 91 years back, with no problems. Now since coming here and seeing all the trans wreckage, I am paranoid to even shift the car hard. It probably doesn't help that my car came with a trans with a blown diff pin in it. :)

you will find that that will make you beat on the car less than you used to when it was stock in some situations. At least for me it did to a extent.

How many pounds of boost do you plan on running when you dyno it??

That is a really clean setup you got there. That is how I want to do mine when I get around to it someday. Very nice job:thumb: Hope it runs strong

So when there gonna be a vid of it running/driving???:dribble:
