Not a clue, is there any cel on?
My ajp tune is on sct and livernois on its own device. I only used forscan to get rid of the honk when exiting and to disable the interior lights.
Looking at older posts, i Dont think dirty valves would cause that big of difference in mpg as i have pics of before and after cleaning mine in 2018 with the intake manifold off and my mpg wasnt affected by it. These ecoboost engines get great mpg for the power and torque they produce. I would romp around in my 5oh and get 9mpg and romp around in my sho and still get at least 19mpg full catless. Great flow in and out.

Id replace the o2 sensors. Upper 2, and clean the lower 2. And maybe look into new downpipes where the cats are. Only thing i can think of that would cause bad mpg without a cel. That bad of mpg
There is no cel. I will see what forscan says before taking it in for an eval. Wouldn’t a bad O2 sensor caused the cel to come on?

Yeah, something is illing in your SHO.
My bone stock 2011, fed 91 its entire life, never drops below 25.5 MPG on any road trip. Car has under 70K on the odo, and I live in SE NM.
Just for s/g, pull the oil K&N, clean your MAF, and try a stock dry air filter for a couple tanks.
Thanks for the feedback. I’ll try your suggestions.

I’m rather pleased with my new (to me) 2010.
My wife and I went from Columbus, Ohio to Cincinnati, Ohio to Frankfort, Kentucky then back to Cincinnati where we went around town all day.
When I refueled the tally was overall 23.6 mpg (I reset the MPG every time I fuel).
Cincinnati to Dayton back to Columbus it was overall 25.6 MPG.
I didn’t think that was too shabby for a 365 horsepower AWD car!
Bone stock, BTW, running on 93.
Thanks everyone for all your replies. If I can get near to what you guys are all showing, I’ll be quite pleased. I would’ve thought the max would be 17 to 18 miles a gallon on this kind of car.

Dont think forscan is your answer. Best answer is to get a tune. They all require data logs back to the person tuning it. They would see an anomaly in the way the engine runs compared to countless others they have seen. You can even let them know your situation to see if they see anything in the cars active run data

Ok, thanks for the info. I have thought about this process, but I’m not sure how to go about it. How do I look for somebody who can do a tune? I’m in the Philadelphia, PA area. Is that something I can find out on this for him?

I called these guys and they said that tuning would not be the answer for my problem. Thanks for the suggestion though. I learned a lot by talking to them.

Just to clarify, we have two MAPs not a MAF correct, per this post: https://shoforum.com/threads/maf-sensor-location.140122/

Yes. It is metered by absolute calculated pressure and not corrected flow rate. My tuner Brad helped me fix a lot of problems over the years from datalogin. I get it. A new customer with existing engine issues. Thats a red flag for me if i was a tuner.
OK, so I should look to clean the two MAPs? I understand that as well. They are not in the engine diagnosis business. I reached out to the guy at a ford dealer I worked with when I first bought the car back in February. He basically said if there was no cel then they don't even bother with an issue like this. cool. I would've figured a dealer would've seen $$$ and lots of diagnostic fees to charge but I guess they don't want to work on something that could be pretty difficult to resolve. With this issue and the smoke smell inside I am now understanding why I am the 4th owner of this car in just 9 years.

I know a good performance shop in the Harrisburg area if your able to be without the car for a bit. To give it a real engine health diagnostic. They installed and upgraded all my powertrain so far. He was able to see the engine issues i had pretty easily before it blew up. No cel for me at that time either.

I would appreciate their number. This isn't my daily driver so I can be without it for awhile. I can just take Amtrak back to Philadelphia.

I wanted to check with you all if the mpg I am getting is normal. I’ve only had the car a couple months and I’ve noticed this pattern. Not expecting great mpg to begin with but I added 6 gallons of Sunoco 93 which topped of the tank which was at 3/4 full. After going 76 miles, some highway, some city but no congested stop and go traffic and I’m not a lead foot I was back down to 3/4. Is this normal? The K and N air filter is not filthy, and I cleaned it with water recently. I have the kit from K & N to clean it which I will do shortly. Just checked the tire pressure and it’s fine. I have the premium extended service plan, so I’m wondering if I should take it to the dealer. Thanks for any advice.

I have charted my MPG since I purchased the car in 2015. My overall average is 22.5 miles per gallon. I use premium (93) fuel and STP fuel supplement. I have used the K & N air filter for four years. I have a very well maintained Non PP SHO AWD. She'll get up and go!

Dons Performance Corner. 717-564-7004. Call and ask for Don. Tell him you got a sho. He’ll take care of you and get it straightened out.

Just getting back to this item now. The SHO is in the shop now for something unrelated but in talking to the kid at the service counter about this he recommended to get the fuel injectors cleaned and cleaning the throttle body. For both services that is around $400. Found a video of a dude cleaning the TB. doesn't look hard. I know getting these done can't hurt but do you think it is worth the money? After cleaning the air filter and the MAP filter on top of the manifold I got to an average of 13.4MPG.

I have doubts that will help that much. There has to be something going wrong like a hidden cat code. Plug a scanner in and post the codes. Some dont trigger the light

will forscan show those codes? I do have that and ran it but lost the results. Also, any merit to trying the Lucas or other bottled cleaners?
