Could be a ground issue. Could also be the light sensor on the dash going bad.

Do you know where grounds are or know where to get wiring schematics. And where is the sensor in the bumper or on dash?

Grounds and wiring diagram are in the Electrical and Vacuum Troubleshooting Manual (you can find them on ebay). Did you try moving the autolamp lever up and down. Its by your left knee towards the bottom of the dash. Here is a thread on where you can find the light sensors. I wonder if it could be your head light switch going bad.

I might take out the headlight switch and maybe try to take it apart to clean the contacts and clean auto light sensors tomorrow

Could also be a short tripping the breaker in the circuit? Do they stay off longer than they stay on?
It’s random sometimes they stay on for 5 minutes and turn off for like 10 seconds or they turn off and on constantly for a minute or they flash on once and stay off until I Turn the switch

And most of the time it’s only when driving because when parked they seem to act fine

If you send me a private message with an e-mail address for you, I can send you a PDF of the Autolamps wiring diagram from the factory service manual.

My guess is the light sensor. My 90 has the same problem. Would be interesting to find out whether the lights going off and on can be attributed to the amount of daylight present. Diagrams for a '94. '95 should be the same.

If you look at the diagrams I just posted, you will realize it has to be the Autolamp Dual Coil Relay, not the main light switch. Not sure where that is. It might be in the Autolamp panel. Lower left on the dash with a thumb wheel. The panel can be levered out from the dash.

I went under the dash followed the wires and couldn’t find the relay

So did you turn the main light switch on instead of using the Autolamp feature to control the headlights? In which case, it could be that switch.

Yeah I made sure it was off and manually turned on the lights and they were still going on and off I will look for a new switch and try that next
