I will be getting a 2016 SHO sometime after the weather breaks. I want a 2016 because this has the latest version of the "Ford MyLink". I have a 2008 Sable now with the first generation Sync and it is unstable and crashes a lot. I did own a 1997 SHO when it came out as well as a "Roots Type" supercharged Marauder. I will be doing a Livernois Performance tune seeing they are in my hometown as well as exhaust and lowering it.
Should I really get a 2016 over a 2015 just because of the infotainment system? I also will be looking for a brown or grey one. I will be gathering much info here over the next few months.
BTW, some may know me as "Bigslim" on the car forums...

Welcome. You may have to travel to find those colors. Just because LMS is local, don't discount other tuners. Catback exhaust on these car make them sound "undesireable" and are shown to not make any difference in power stock or modified. I would look at getting a set of PPE down pipes and having the 3rd cat removed while going through the stock mufflers.

The new Ford MyLink is nice, but that is up to you. I would see what documentation the car has, and do a complete fluid swap. Oil, Coolant, PTU, and RDU. Trans fluid should be okay. I have a ton of information in my thread about about my SHO ownership. Everything ceramic coatings to fluid swaps, dyno pulls, track days, the new GH Intercooler install. Take a gander.

Welcome, Darryl! Sync3 certainly has a lot to offer. Any software is going to have bugs, so that is not going away LOL. BUT from all reports, it is a significant improvement in major areas over Sync2. I think support for Sync2 is basically dead as well. So yeah, a good reason to pick the 2016.

Have you got the most recent version of Sync on your Sable? I think 11.x ... But yeah, once the hardware ages, you are SOL.

There are a couple of each color in my area. Low miles on all of them. Thank you for the info.
