For Those That Installed Drive Bright DRLs

Getting ready to place an order...but am left with a installation question. How did you get the wiring out of the under hood fusebox? Looking at the fuse box, it looks like I may be able to route the wiring out the bottom. I suppose a follow-up would be...I assume the cover goes back on once the fuse tap in placed>?

Yes, once the tap is installed you just pop the cover back on. You may need to move the wire around to make sure you aren't crimping it. Also, I has to put a larger ring connector on my 12v+ to fit the battery terminal.

If I remember correctly I just routed the wire between the other fuses and reinstalled the cover. The other wires went to my battery and controller box, which I zip tied out of the way in the same area. It's been a while, I'll have to look later.

Yes, the cover just goes back on - I've had mine since they day Drive Bright made them available for the SHO. No issues. The cover doesn't go back on exactly 100% perfectly - because the wire runs out through the top, but don't worry it still goes on and snaps shut and it doesn't crimp the wire. Then I ran the wires along the top of the firewall to passenger side and down along the fender to the drivers side - used zip ties to attached to other wires, braces, etc.

I just routed mine through the harness opening and attached the module to the top of the fuse box cover with small push pins to make it easy to remove and reinstall. The cool thing I did was installed a discrete weather resistant switch in the plastic panel (see arrow) as a circuit interrupter so with a flip of the switch I can choose between full or partial white light intensity.

6500rpm...very nice! I'd be glad to know more about the switch....not sure I'd do it...but would like to know how it works.

When you purchase the light set, the instructions give you a choice to either hook up one specific wire or leave it disconnected to determine if you want it at full brightness or reduced (I don't have the instructions with me right now so I can't give you the details). I decided to hook it up through a switch and use it as a circuit interrupter so I have a choice at any time to change it to either option with a simple press. I just picked up a small weather resistant rocker switch and mounted it in that plastic extension since it was close, out of sight but easily accessible, and out of the weather.
Bright is pretty damn bright but I don't think it's too bad for other drivers unless you're parked across from someone at a stop light. They almost work like fog lights at full intensity.

Very cool...thank you! Drive Bright was kind enough to send me the installation instructions as I contacted them with some questions. I do see a "dimming" connection that goes to the driver's side headlight harness. I assume that's the wire you mean.

I need to place my order for the kit...it's just been crazy and I need to take the time to get it done.

The dimming connection is when your headlights turn on the DRLs dim a little. And I mean they dim very little! They're still very bright with the headlights on.

Any pics? I haven't installed my set yet and if it really isn't much difference I won't bother wiring that up.

I'll see if I have some but I hooked it up. At full brightness they don't look right with the headlight. The dim feature dims it just enough too look OEM with the headlights on.
