Traded in my 2014 Focus ST for a 2013 Taurus SHO. Looking forward to many years of fun with the SHO.
Only thing I'm looking to do right now is add an alarm. Does anyone have the Ford perimeter plus alarm (Part No: DL3Z-19A361-A)? Wondering how it integrates with the existing key fob... I'm looking to add the shock/impact sensors. I had an aftermarket alarm on the Focus and I had to have two remotes. One for the car and one for the alarm. Trying to avoid that this time.

Haven't really pushed the SHO yet from a stop. Highway speeds it does seem quite a bit faster. The ST was fun in corners. It could hold its own. The SHO has a lot more body roll to it. Still trying to figure out it's limits.

Been driving a manual transmission the past 14 years and also doing a lot of running. My left foot has had problems and could never heal properly. Pushing in the clutch all the time was very painful.

I had my dealer install the Ford impact/shock sensor about a year ago, after my back window was broken and all 4 wheels were stolen and my car was left on bricks. No extra remote is needed, I have just the factory one that came with the car. Shock sensor is live after 10 secs. There are 2 sensitivity levels that it can be adjusted too. Knock on wood, but I haven't had any issues since I got it.

I had a 2012 Edge with the 20" chrome wheels on it stolen out of my driveway. It was found a few days later in Detroit up on blocks. Needless to say I've had alarms on my cars since then. I've had multiple people who work at the local Ford dealer by me tell me that the Ford impact/shock sensor was not sensitive enough and that I was better off going with an aftermarket alarm and having it integrated with the factory remote.

Man that sucks, to many stories out there like that. Hope you don't have any issues with the new car. In the end it will catch up to them either jail, baseball bat or shot gun.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is a better aftermarket shock sensor/alarm on the market. I have been happy with the Ford one. The other day I had to park somewhere a little tighter than I prefer. I got out of my car and folded the outside mirror in towards the window/body, locked the car and came back a few hours later. Before unlocking/disarming the system, I pushed my mirror back to the original position and it set the alarm off. If you kick the wheels or hit the glass it will go off too. Here are a few example videos of the Ford system to give you an idea. If I were to go all in on the alarm I would get one that pings my cellphone when the alarm goes off. Also lets you lock/unlock/remote start the car from anywhere.
