That thinking thing again, gets you every time. If you're looking for "coming out" stories I think you clicked the wrong saved favorite (this is the car forum) just saying.

As long as we are making unfair comparisons. 2013 BMW M5: 560 horsepower and 501 pound-feet of torque. 2013 SHO: just a wee few horses short. You want top of the line, you don't put the same base engine as the bottom of the line, or you do something radically different.

The only race a sho will win vs that car is possibly asking sync to activate the nav system. Bmw nav systems suck, but the rest of the car is full of win.

Interesting that the automotive press seems to ignore the SHO. The Gen 4 has more interior room, more HP, better gas mileage than LS 460,E350, 535,A6, but no mentions of the SHO as an alternative.
So, do you think the Mustang gets no respect when they don't mention it in reviews of the BMW M6, Aston Martin DB9, or Jaguar XKR?

And this is a pro-SHO site, but we're fans, not fan-boys--we're realistic about what the car is and is not. It might compare favorably to some luxury cars, but it is not a luxury car, and people shopping for luxury cars are not, by and large, going to be cross-shopping the SHO. (The MKS, maybe, but not the SHO.) It's not a lack of respect, it's just reality; expecting reviewers to mention the SHO in articles about luxury cars is about like expecting them to mention the Taurus when discussing CUVs (after all, the Taurus is available with AWD, right?)--no matter how favorably it might compete in some aspects, they're not really comparable.

To be knee **** about "disrespect" is silly, as I mentioned earlier get out to the various competition venues and have a great time proving them wrong. Besides I love having the sleeper thing going, its a beautiful thing.

Who are you wanting to prove wrong? What are you wanting to prove them wrong about? What makes you think anyone will care?

Why does anyone care whether or not their car gets respect? I just don't get it. Does getting respect for their car really make people feel better about themselves?

When I buy a car I buy what I want/like without fretting over whether or not it's going to get respect. I guess I'm secure enough in my person that I don't give a rat's ass what anybody else says or thinks about the vehicle I drive. All that matters is that I enjoy driving what I buy.

And as for the SHO being able to smoke more expensive cars in a straight line - again, who cares? Does anyone really think that a purchaser of, say, an LS 460 cares one iota that a less expensive car is quicker than their LS? Does anyone really think that the owner of an LS, after discovering that the SHO is quicker, is going to sit in their LS and start crying that the SHO is faster and start thinking that they made a mistake buying the LS? Because I'll guarantee that most, if not all, LS owners simply don't care that the less expensive SHO is quicker and cheaper.

It seems like some people here tie their self esteem and self worth to how quick their cars are and how much respect their car gets. Very strange.

Markus, you have been a member here for over 10 years. How can this attitude be new to you? This is the attitude you see on this forum, on computer forums, cell phone forums, political forums, sports team forums, every discussion on the internet is just like this. People talk down others because some sports team they happen to cheer for wins a game. I don't know if it is insecurity or insanity, but it surely is not new and not isolated to this forum.

I never said this attitude is new to me nor did I say it was specific to this forum ...

You've been right on Markus.

Ill continue to refer to it as srt4 syndrome. Who cares, its still a Taurus. Enjoy surprising people, just don't give the rest of the community a bad rap by being a douche about "Its a SHO, not Taurus, respect it" attitude.

:thankyou:

I'll be sure to enjoy, have no doubt about it. Vids to follow. What ever happened to all of the srt 4's I rarely see them anymore.

90% of them are now driveway/garage/yard ornaments from glass transmissions and owners who are in high school and can't afford to fix them. Same fate the dsm's suffered. No worries, they'll all be recycled into toyotas like the mopars of old.
