hey. so i just got the sho out agian. and well i was goin to redo the whole thing. as in rust work. and iam not so sure if its worth it. i mean i love this car. i love that its a white on black full leather sunroof and its a 91 plus on top of all that. but by the end of this i would have a TON of hours into it. like 20 plus hours (to do it right)...and well sheet metal isnt on the cheep right now....so on to the pics
its bad just a fyi

so with that. what should i do? put in 20 hours fixin? or should i put it back together and cut my losses? and get a sho from florida or someplace rust free? i mean i cant really justify putting any more money into this thing that is rotting away..any input would help.

Heres a few questions that pop into my head and maybe will help you make a decision.

Do you care about it being a true 91 plus?

Is it unsafe to drive with the rust or just cosmetic?

Do you want a gen2 or different body style?

Do you want something with lower milage? even though theyve been proven to go several hundred thousand.

You could always swap drivetrain or interiors into a clean shell if you have attachments to certain things... (black leather)

How much time are you going to have into that compared to just fixing what you have?

just a few things that i thought of now. so unless its unsafe to drive it could be fixed.

well ya i mean its safe. i have been drivin it like this for 5 yrs or so. i think iam just goin to fix it. i will just cut out the crap metal and weld in a whole new rocker panel. then tar the crap outta it so the rust is stopped dead in its tracks.

most of the rust is in areas that don't show so the job doesnt have to be perfect. its getting harder to find gen 1s espc a plus and if you really love the car I think its worth it

Sounds like there might be some sentimental value with the is car. I'd would weigh it out of the rarity of the car vs. being able to find another white plus, rust free at that. Its probably cheaper to fix it, but easier to buy another car.

Good to read you are fixing it. :) Good luck, keep us posted on your progress. :thumb:
