I mis-typed my above post. I was NOT trying to start a *****-fest. I'm not trying to compete with anyone, I was just curious on the gear and the power level with 14 PSI. I didn't realize you had nitrous.

I have never dyno'd in anything but 4th, I might try a 3rd gear pull sometime to see what it would do.

I completely missed the part where you pointed out that the power won't be different when comparing 3rd to 4th gear in your original post... Excuse me if I missed it.

I think what James was trying to say (not trying really, as I think he accomplished it), was simply that the car was in 3rd gear. It's all about the comma.

Depending on your turbo setup and how well it deals with load, your numbers can go down.

The comma is a pause, nothing more. <--See, I used one again.... and again. I would believe he was trying to be a smart-ass about counting gears. I don't see why everyone has so much input on a simple question. There's gotta be something festering the receiving end.

Yeah, it would be interesting to see.

The 'it' in the 'I was just pointing it out for Jason" was simply referring to the gear in question, making no reference to the statement of power production related to chosen gear. I do not believe he was trying to be smart about it, for we all know 'smart' and 'St Louis SHO' do not belong in the same sentence!!

For mike and jason, what kind of differences did you have for your 3rd gear vs 4th gear runs?

PS: Jason, can you PM your phone number, I seemed to have lost it in my switch of phones.

You would believe, when in all reality, Tim was right. Nothing more.

Personally, I'd run dyno pulls on a car that powerful in 4th gear just to avoid the risk of vaporizing the output shaft in 3rd.

Either way, it wasn't apparent me or Chris since you directly answered a question with the correct answer. Doesn't really matter, you all have bigger shlubs than I.

 seemed pretty obvious to me that he did it in third gear. 1st and 2nd took a while to sync up because of the feedback loop between the drums and wheels but it was a solid 3rd gear run.

I like 4th as well for the dyno, but not out of any fear of hurting 3rd. If it does nto break on the street, it is not going to break on the dyno.

some people skip gears when driving. he could have done the same on the dyno... without the OP saying what gear he was in all you can really do is infer that he was in third based on the count and the short pull to redline.

Oh come on now. Anybody who has driven a manual long enough to drive it by sound can tell when a gear is getting skipped. Even if the sound is hideously morphed by a ginormous supercharger and seeming utter lack of exhaust :p.
