Differences in GenI headlights. Aftermarket-OEM

I noticed right off the bat that it was different. I picked it up a the junkyard the other day off a wrecked GenI SLO. I had a set of aftermarket headlights from Headlightwarehouse on the car, which one still is.. There is a difference in output on few different levels.
I grabbed some a couple pics this morning. Sorry if they are not that great, just had my cell phone.





Can you tell the difference?

That may look like scatter, but its just the camera doing that to the picture. It's just too bright and focused.

Hot spots are a sure sign of poor beam quality. Former SHOtimer Herman Anker was extremely knowledgeable about vehicle lighting, you might try to search out his website as he has a page on SHOs.

My Gen II has a recent (new) OEM on one side and a brand new aftermarket on the other. If I get a chance I will take a pic.

BTDT a long time ago. IMO, no... with 100% certainty, the driver side light puts more light on the ground. Plus, look at the beam and cutoff, much sharper on the drivers side, and not split like the passenger side.

i agree... my 89 had the same deal, less sharpness on the pass side and a clean beam on the drivers side.

I thought he meant the "hot spot" in the center of the drivers side light.

I know why mine is like that, but I don't know why yours would do that if they were both OEM or Aftermrket...

What's the brand on the aftermarket one? And you never said which was which.

They were from headlightwarehouse.com.

Driver side is OEM. I was waiting to see if someone would figure it out.

Who is the manufacturer? Do the lenses say "headlightwarehouse.com"? For the Gen 2, DEPO is a popular brand.
