Believe it or not I did a search. the power antenna doesn't even make a noise when I turn on the radio. I assumed the motor was shot so I got another motor and mast and it does the same thing. I checked all the fuses next to the parking brake mechanism pedal, they all look good. where else do I need to look? I'm wondering if there is something wrong with the head unit, it is a Kenwood. .. but it seems to be working fine.

Your Kenwood unit has a blue wire with a white stripe. That is the antennae signal wire, and it does sound like that is your issue.
This wire can also be used as a signal wire for an auxiliary amplifier.

There are 3 other wires that connect to your car (not including your 8 speaker wires).
    The ignition wire is red.
    The battery wire is yellow.
    The ground wire is black

If another wire is present in the bundle, it too can be an antennae wire, but it is usually tied off and unused.

Awesome. So I know the metra harness adapter was used to connect the kenwood. Shouldn't the antenna signal wire be connected? Either way, I will check it out soon. Thanks

It could be your power antenna module. Drop the glovebox, and it's on the right hand side near the airbag module. It controls starting, stopping, and reversing the antenna motor. Search on Power Antenna at my dropbox url for more information: https://www.dropbox.com/l/EeLRPOedZ8ULdnVBrTUGOo

You know. My dimmer doesn't work. It only works as on/off. Could this be why?
Where do you get that module?

Nailed it. For whatever reason, the professional installers bypassed the blue wire from the radio to the harness. Thanks!
