A search didn't turn up much on this. Not entirely sure why but I bought another 1995 MTX. Probably the nicest one I've looked at over the last year and a half.

Anyhow, rather than memorize a new door code was wondering if it is possible to swap over the one from my green 95 MTX that will be undergoing final part out soon (watch for a new ad in the Classifieds),

Will a straight swap work or does it require some kind of Vulcan mind meld with other systems?

    TIA - zak

Man, Gil Shoemaker is the only one I know with alot of experience monkeying around with those. Unfortunately he is no longer with us. Maybe one of his old posts on this might have relevant info?

I have swapped the modules between several first gens for that same reason. All the ones I did were really straight forward. Just unplug the module and take the mounting screws out and plug it into the new car and put the screws back in. Being that yours is a second gen I can't tell you for sure but I'm pretty sure they used the same modules for all the first and second gens and they are all plug and play with each other.

So far, so good, swapped modules and tried the door code - success. Can't seem to remember the button to push, after entering the code, that unlocks all the doors, but 5 for the trunk seems to work. Haven't tried to start the car.

The bolts holding the module in were a strange size, in between 6 and 7 mm, I used a 9/32nds.

Before unbolting use your quarter inch extension to press very hard on the little tab in the center of the large black connector and pull it off. The antenna wire pulls towards the center of the car. The smaller black and grey connectors can be removed after unbolting the module, again these have center tabs that have too be pushed in as far as possible.

Now if only I could remember the fog light switch modification to allow the fogs to be run with the parking lamps only . . . . has been about 20 years.

I haven't used it in many many years but I think you press 7&9 for all doors to unlock or maybe lock all doors. If 7&9 doesn't work to unlock try number 3

I believe it is 3 that unlocks all the doors.
